Panama City is a vibrant mix of modern luxury, rich history, and tropical escapes. Towering skyscrapers sit next to colonial streets, and just beyond the city, lush rainforests and dreamy beaches are waiting to be explored. Start your day wandering the cobblestone streets of Casco Viejo, sipping fresh coffee and taking in the city’s historic charm. By afternoon, hit the shopping districts, explore the famous Panama Canal, or escape to nearby islands with crystal-clear waters. Whether you’re here for adventure, relaxation, or the perfect mix of both, Panama City is the ultimate gateway for culture, nightlife, and nature all in one place.

There was so much good food in Panama City! In addition to the restaurants I would recommend checking out a “fonda”. They are pretty much food halls where you can get plates from different vendors. There were tons of locals there on their lunch break when I went and I got a huge plate that lasted me 2+ days for $5! The one I went to was called Feria Marbella food zone.
We did the Casco Viejo bar crawl and it was honestly one of my highlights of the trip! It’s definitely made for tourists but regardless it was so fun meeting other travelers and partying in different spots around Casco. We did the one hosted by The OG Crawl and the guides were so much fun dancing and getting everyone hyped up, would recommend!
Panama City offered a variety of activities from nightlife, food, drinks, nature, adventure, and safety. It was an appropriate trip for two women traveling alone. The airport was simple to navigate, along with transportation thereafter. The hotels were in populated areas with lots of foot traffic and surrounded be a variety of culinary options. Panama City has ride-share services available so we used Uber when needed. Additionally, Panama City offers a significantly diverse experience for those who enjoy creating all encompassing itineraries spanning from the old town to the towering skyscrapers. Like any other city, stay vigilant and mindful of where you are at. We did not run into any issues, but it is the general rule of thumb. We sourced most of our experiences through Airbnb and found each guide and company to be professional and safe like:
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Panama City to anyone looking for a new adventure to explore in Central America.
